What started perhaps as a custom to ward off evil, however, became strongly associated with any celebration or auspicious event. Weddings being one of the most important events in a persons life, it is small wonder that fireworks should occupy a pride of place in weddings. Although the custom might not have become widespread everywhere, celebrating weddings with fireworks would lend a distinct and unique flavour to the event and make it memorable.
