The popular Nikon F-mount is a type of exchangeable lens attachment system created by Nikon on account of the 35 mm SLR roll film cameras. The F-mount was in fact introduced on the Nikon F SLR camera during 1959, and it uses a 3 pin bayonet mount with a 44 mm throat in addition to a flange to focal plane gap of 46.5mm.
