Asturias by Statute of Autonomy is considered historical community in Article 1. It has a medieval self-governing body called the Government of the Principality founded in 1388, as a result of its transformation into the Principality in order of Juan I of Castile. It also has its own language, Asturian or Bable, language which, while not considered an official language, has a legal status similar to that of officers.
